Privacy Policy

Effective date: 26 July 2026 · Receipt, by Utkarsh Nagar

The short version: Receipt keeps your data on your device. There's no account, no login, and no cloud database of ours. Your receipts, expenses, and records are stored locally on your iPhone — we never receive them.

What information is involved

Purchases

If you buy Receipt Pro (subscription) or Lifetime access, the payment is processed by Apple under Apple's terms — we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to manage and restore your access; RevenueCat processes limited purchase information (such as a pseudonymous app-user ID, subscription/transaction status, and device and country information) to verify your entitlement. See Apple's and RevenueCat's privacy policies for details.

Notifications

If you enable BAS deadline reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. Nothing is sent to us or a server for this.

How the information is used

Because your records stay on your device, we don't use them for anything. Purchase information is used solely to give you the access you paid for and to let you restore it.

Sharing

We don't sell or share your personal information. The only third parties involved are Apple (payments and app distribution) and RevenueCat (subscription management), and only for the purposes described above.

Keeping and controlling your data

Your records stay on your device until you delete them. In the app you can delete any receipt, export everything as a PDF or CSV at any time, and remove all data by deleting the app. Australian tax law may require you to keep records for five years — exporting is how you retain them.

Security

Data is stored in the app's protected container on your device, secured by iOS. Because we don't hold your records on a server, there is no cloud database of ours that could be breached.

Children

Receipt is intended for adults running a business and is not directed at children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, Australia's Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, the EU GDPR, or the California CCPA), you may have rights over your personal information. Because we don't hold your records, most requests can be handled within the app itself. For purchase data held by Apple or RevenueCat, contact us and we'll help.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above will change, and material updates will be noted in the app or on this page.
